Help with Windows Vista Citrix Installation

Return to Citrix Home Page

If you have ever installed a browser-based plug-in, installing the Citrix client should be just as easy.

Step 1:  Click on the Install Citrix Client link

Step 2:  You will be prompted, select Run.

NOTE:  If you are having problems running the install package, try to Save the package first to your desktop instead of Running it here.  Sometimes, especially if you are using dial-up access to the Internet, the client install will work better if you download the package first.

If you decide to save the package to your desktop instead of installing it, double click on the install package and continue to follow the instructions to complete the install.

Step 3:  You will be warned again, and again select Run.

Step 4:  In Vista, you will be prompted to allow this application to access your computer.  This is called the User Account Control, and it is an added security feature in Vista.  Click on Allow.

Step 5:  After the download and install is completed, you will see the following screen.  Click on Finish.

Step 6:  Click on the Proceed to Citrix link.  From here, you will see links to the applications you have rights to access and run in Citrix.  If you do not see an application you expect to see in Citrix, click here to enter a request for access to an application.

The first time you run an application through Citrix on Vista, you will be prompted twice.  One will be by Vista to allow Citrix to run.

Step 7:  On the Vista IE dialog box below, make sure you check Do not show me the warning for this program again, and then click Allow.

The other will be a prompt from Citrix to set the indicate what kind of access you want to allow Citrix.

Step 8:  On the Citrix dialog box below, you should select Full Access and Never Ask Again on the Citrix Client File Security dialog box.

Click on OK, and you should be off and running with Citrix!
