Our Leaders

John Thompson is Chief Operating Officer for CROSSMARK. He is responsible for overseeing coordination and
integration of CROSSMARK’s various business units. John joined
the company in 1992, and his positions have included chief
information officer and executive vice president before becoming
president of retail services in 2004. In managing CROSSMARK’s
retail division, John provided strategic direction for Client
Development, Dedicated Teams, Wal-Mart Team, Retail Sales, and
the Retail Operations Center.
In addition, John has led several industry-wide initiatives. He
co-developed activity-based-costing (ABC) software for the
Association of Sales and Marketing Companies (ASMC), created
additional Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) transactions to
increase sales automation, and he founded eXchangeBridge, a
Web-based order-processing portal that processes over a million
transactions annually.
John has also been published in several trade publications such
as XML Journal, Information Week, GMA Forum, Consumer Goods
Technology and InfoWeek. He was featured on the World Business
Review and serves on the Sales Committee for the GMA.
John received his Master’s of Business from Wake Forest
University and a Bachelor’s of Business Administration and
Economics from Guilford College.
